Athina MARKAKI

Athena Markaki is a Psychologist and graduate of the Department of Public and Community Health at the University of West Attica. She has a Health Services Management Degree from the Univresity of Piraeus and has been trained in Systemic Psychotherapy. At AfIC, she holds the position of treasurer. Athina has many years of experience as a psychologist in her private practice. Over the last ten years she has acted as a Scientific Manager in various Mental Health Organizations for Children and Adolescents and for Unaccompanied Refugee and Migrant Children. She has also served as the Head of the Parents’ School of INEDI.VI.M. in the city Rethymno, while she teached in several educational programs of INE.DIV.M in Athens. Athina has been in the past a Laboratory Associate of the Department of Public and Community Health of the University of Western Attica, Athens. In addition she participated as an external consultant in European Union projects like SmartCare, UHCE and Metabolic Syndrome Prevention Program. Athina has also worked for Hifab International in the Republic of Serbia as an advisor to the MoH on the project “Enhancing the position of residents in residential care institutions for people with mental disabilities and the creation of conditions for their social inclusion in the local community”. She has presented her work at national conferences and has published in various scientific journals.
