After a very competitive procedure, AfIC together with the Municipalities of Alimos and Palaio Faliro from Athens, Greece, have been selected by the E.C. to participate in the 2 years long 100 Intelligent Cities Challenge financed by the E.D. funded program COSME aiming at transforming the green, smart and sustainable development of these cities towards and beyond the Industry 4.0 era.

In our consortium, the Leader is Palaio Faliro, and the Steering Committee members are the municipality of Alimos, the NGO Alliance for Integrated Care, Harokopeio University of Athens, Flisvos Marina and the Working Group already developed consists of experienced individuals with expertise in the domains of smart tourism, smart health, smart green and smart energy, smart start – ups and SME’s.
For two years, starting end of September 2020, we will focus on:
- Receiving expert mentoring and coaching from renowned experts in the above mentioned domains involving field visits to the municipalities but also visit of out teams to mentor cities.
- Participation of our teams in group trainings on the how’s related to creating “Smart” cities and what are the Critical Success Factors for that.
- Participation in High Impact and Value Events across Europe.
- Collboration with the external experts and mentor cities on the development of a Smart City Master Plan that will be the guide for the future.
For the dissemination and communication purposes of the programm, we weill develop a dedicated facebook account and in addition, the two cities will create and manage space on their permanent websites.
