A focus group with informal caregivers of elderly patients with Type II Diabetes and Hypertension was conducted online. The ValueCare model and the digital solution were discussed and challenges were identified.
The main challenges that the project will encounter in the Athens pilot, are the digital illiteracy of older old adults and the unwillingness and lack of motivation they will have in using the ValueCare digital solution. In addition, the burden of care of informal caregivers due to the support they will provide digitally to the patients they care for, must be accounted for, especially for those caring for very old adults that have little digital skills and are unwilling to participate or continuously engage in such a digital project.
